Birdcage

I love birds and books. They picture the ability to escape to me. Escape from life, stress, and pain. I combined these two loves and created this birdcage. I tore the original papers from this book. They were vintage and beautiful, so I want to use them in later projects. I made signatures from an old encyclopedia and filled the book. I drilled holes in the book, and used wire to create the cage. I save just about everything I break. Years ago, I broke this poor little ceramic bird, so now it has a home. I used a piece of a vintage wooden ruler to make the swing. I obsessively collect every feather I find. So I added a feather. They make me happy. To finish, I glued old dresser pulls to the bottom as feet. I thoroughly enjoyed making this project!
